A service contract describes a repeating job, such as cleaning a grease trap each month, providing maintenance every six months, or inspecting filters each year.
A service contract differs from a service due notice.
Service Contract | Service Due Notice |
Repeats more frequently, such as each month, quarter, or year | Repeats less frequently, such as every three, four, or five years |
Automatically scheduled | Manually scheduled |
Follow the steps below to create a service contract.
STEP 1: While on the contact's contact-property detail page, click the + NEW SERVICE CONTRACT BUTTON.
A window opens, displaying the property and its tanks in the upper-left corner.
STEP 2: Complete the following fields.
Start Date | Enter the date the service contract itself begins, which is not necessarily the first service date. |
First Service Date | Enter the first date that actual service is provided. |
Frequency | Enter the service frequency, which can consist of a designated number of days, weeks, months, or years. |
End Date | Enter the date the service contract itself ends; if the service contract does not have an end date, click None. |
Job Name | Enter the name of the contract or job, which is used for internal purposes. |
Truck | Assign the truck, if desired. |
Auto-Adjust Prices | Click the Auto-Adjust Prices option to adjust the prices of the itemized products and services. In other words, if you change the prices of those products and services in your settings, future appointments will use the new prices. To "lock in" the original prices of the itemized products and services, leave the Auto-Adjust Prices option unchecked. |
Appointment Confirmation System | Select the On option to send appointment confirmation requests; otherwise, select the Off option. |
