The audit trap
Some waste facilities measure the volume you deliver rather than taking your word for it, and in some areas the facility files its own pump report for each septic company directly to the state. The state may then compare the pump data you submit against the facility's report. If the two don't match, the discrepancy can trigger an audit — and possibly harsh penalties.
How the manifest protects you
Each manifest has an optional field for the waste volume as measured by the facility. Enter that number, and Tank Track compares it to the sum of the pump volumes from all the invoices on the manifest, then shows you the difference.
Once you can see the gap, you can adjust any or all of the pump volumes right on the manifest until your manifest total exactly matches the facility's measurement.
ℹ️ When you adjust a pump volume on a manifest, Tank Track automatically updates the pump volume on each underlying invoice too — so your internal records stay perfectly consistent.
